Introduction

The Devauden Village Website was first established in 2005.  The main purpose of the website is to provide useful, local information to the residents of Devauden and to people living in the surrounding area including, Kilgwrrwg, Wolvesnewton, The Cot, Cobblers Plain and Itton.  The website aims to strengthen the local community by keeping its stakeholders informed of activities and facilities available in the area.    To date, the main focus has been on the the village hall which is widely used and has an active committee which organises a variety of events throughout the year.

In an attempt to reach as many local people as possible, a printed leaflet entitled "What's On In Devauden" is occasionally produced and delivered around the village and to some of the neighbouring communities.  This is done to help ensure that members of the community who do not have access to the internet, particularly the elderly, are not excluded.  Similarly, many of the articles on the website have also been contributed to the  local press.

The Devauden Village Website is not funded by any public means and, although it provides information about locally based businesses, it does not seek nor receive money from advertising. It is not affiliated to any particular local group or organisation. The website is maintained and edited by John Davis on a voluntary basis and the content of the website is provided by local residents who value the contribution that website makes to their community.
